Door latch assembly WPW10275768 is at the top of the dishwasher door and keeps the door closed when the dishwasher is running. The assembly includes the latch and the switches that detect when the door is opened.
Unplug the dishwasher or shut off the house circuit breaker for the dishwasher before installing this part.

the replacement of the Latch for our dishwasher
We received the part in good time. No complaints with that. However, as I studied the part, I realized that it was not complete with what I would consider the actual latch. What I really had needed was the black part that your hand goes into to open the door of the dishwasher. This goes onto the part you actually sent, which in reality was still good and did not need to be replaced. Even if it was only sold together, that is, the two pieces, we would have been missing what we needed most, the actual black colored piece that fits onto what you sent. We need to return the part you sent for refund since I had to go ahead and get the part somewhere else. Please let us know how we send it back. Does it go to the same address as on the box? Thank you for your understanding of this as we consider future purchases with you for our Maytag and possibly for our Whirlpool appliances. Respectfully, Clark Malone (P.S.: I only took your part out of the box but did not change it, try it or mount it in any way)

No handle with door latch.
It doesn't come with a handle, and it doesn't say it doesn't come with a handle. It's the handle that's broken. The handle isn't called out separately on the schematic. I'm in the process of shipping it back and looking somewhere else.

Handle not included.
The latch handle is NOT included. After research on Maytag oarts site, you can get it with the handle, but only in black. White no longer made. I wound up purchasing assembky with the black handle from Maytag Parts.
