Plastic connector piece easily breaks

Purchased this range several years ago. The knobs are not engineered very well as the center piece of the knob that connects to the oven is plastic. That connector piece tends to break with minimal use requiring the puchase of a new knob. It's very frustrating to purchase $40 knobs on a routine basis for this expensive range.
