I was quoted $450 to replace this part so I decided I would DIY and I am glad I did. Not only are there multiple YouTube videos that show how to replace this unit but it is probably the easiest repair to make. I would suggest verifying that the Drive Motor is faulty (check the light code on the inverter board) before replacing. That being said, this is one of the more expensive parts to replace but you're still paying roughly half the cost of a new washer so if you don't like throwing out an otherwise good machine I would suggest replacement.
