Tap the Mandrels

Why weren't the new mandrels tapped to receive a 5/16-18 bolts. Obviously people buying these are replacing the old ones. So they will need the holes tapped to be able to correctly bolt them back on. Just a huge pain to have to go thru and tap all the holes. I'm assuming the factory used self tapping bolts and just ran them into the mandrel. Makes sense on an assembly line. Not for a replacement part being put on by someone in their garage. Not an easy part to instal by anyone that doesn't have some pretty decent experience on working on vehicles/equipment or metal working experience.

Worst buying experience I've ever had

Simple after I ordered from a different company, will never buy from here again. Repair is easy and straightforward, when you get the part. I'd course my answer is too vague to be approved. You people are pathetic

Not for a rookie

Not as bad to install as I thought it would be. Shipping is much better and faster than it used to be. Overall satisficed.

Required extra work

The original mandrel was tapped for the bolts to thread into. These came with no threads and not mounting bolts. I specifically asked about the mounting bolts when I ordered. If I'd have ordered through Amazon, it would have come with the mounting bolts, and it would have been tapped and ready to install.

correct part...good price

part arrived in only 4 business days. Replaced blade spindle on my Craftsman Lawn tractor. The only down side was they didn't include the mounting bolts. The old bolts are designed to break off when you try to remove them.

Part is as expected

Replacement was straightforward, however, the removal of the old unit was quite challenging! In my case, years of rust and grass buildup caused the bolts to be seized. Several broken bolts are to be expected. Also, I ordered three units, and they were shipped in a box with absolutely no protective wrapping... just rattling around loose. It was pure luck that they weren't damaged. The box came with NO instructions for removal or installation.
