Thanks to a video reference from YouTube the repair made more sense. The price of the part and the speed of shipping was great. Repair done in 30 minutes and eliminated the need for a repair trip to a vacuum store. My vacuum is up and running again for $25, I am so pleased, thanks Sears Parts Direct!

This was a great replacement and met my needs. The clip that holds the swivel into the housing broke off. The hose also cracked from years of use and was duct taped up. I was able to remove the old swivel, cut back the hose to a good point and strip the wires further up the hose to make it completely sealed again. Took about 45 minutes from start to finish. I would suggest watching a YouTube video of how to get the cover off the hose. That was the most difficult part of the job. taking it off and putting it back on. Wish this was a bit cheaper but what are you gonna do! Cheaper than a new vacuum cleaner!

YouTube is a great place to get how-to instructions on installation! Those won't come with the part. The yellow wire (on the vacuum hose, not the new part) was a bit too short for a good connection, and the same was true for the YouTube instructor's model. You may need to strip / expose more wire for a good fit with the connectors on the new part.

I could not figure out how to remove the old part so I broke it in pieces. After doing this I could see the outer sleeve slid down th hose exposing the swivel part which can then be easily removed
