Solved my problem
Replaced the end cap on my NordicTrack EXP3000 treadmill that had broken internal pieces and prevented the alignment/adjustment of the rear walking belt roller which caused belt slipping. Good instructions came with the part and although the repair is somewhat involved it is definitely a DIY project that most can do. The end cap has channels on each end that slip onto the treadmill steel frame members. These channels have raised ridges on all four sides to help make a tight fit. But these channels make it difficult to get the end cap to press on to the steel frame on each side. I filed the leading edge of each of these raised ridges to allow the steel frame to at least get started. Then pressing and the use of a rubber mallet allowed me to fit the end cap the rest of the way.

Just what we needed
We bought a used treadmill under the assumption the rear roller was the culprit causing belt issues. Seems to have done the trick. Not difficult to instal.

Treadmill End Cap
I received the part after a few- week delay. The part was not readily available. Actually, i was surprised and frankly delighted that the end cap part for the treadmill was still available-after all, it is about 20 years old but solidly built. I was prepared to install it myself- or so I thought. After reading the instructions and the many convolutions required to position the treadmill bed just so, align the tracks, measure the clearances, etc. etc , I opted to have a real pro come and install it.

Good instructions, easy to install.
I had to replace my plastic endcap on my treadmill. Instructions had me loosening the front roller but I was able to place a wedge between the rear roller and the tread mill, allowing enough space to insert the metal clips with needle nose pliers. Took me less than 30 minutes.
