The Husqvarna Lawn Mower Drive Control Assembly (part number 583445101) engages the gear case to propel the mower forward. It replaces part number 427912 and fits select Husqvarna walk-behind lawn mowers.
If your mower loses traction or won't move when you squeeze the drive bar, the drive control assembly may be broken or worn out. Replacing it restores self-propulsion so the mower moves forward smoothly while cutting.
Disconnect the spark plug wire before starting. Wear gloves and use a screwdriver to remove the old drive control and attach the new one. This is a manageable DIY repair for most users with basic mechanical skills.
