The door assembly has three tricky parts. First, you must balance the door in the open position as you install the hinges. The boxes in which the door comes are just the right height if the washing machine is on a pedestal. Second, the hinges are light weight plastic, and small. The bottom and top hinges will break if the door is not well supported. The top and bottom hinges must be screwed down once they are in place, and before any other step is taken. The other two hinges are installed below the top hinge and above the bottom hinge. An installer might be tempted to put screws in place to tighten those two down, as one does with the top and bottom support hinges, but that is not how these two inner hinges work. There are grooves cut into the door support to match the two inner hinges. The two inner hinges are identical. Just turn one over and it will fit the other hinge placement. Once the inside hinges are in place, the next step is to install the hinge cover plate. Third, the hinge cover plate requires five screws. Two of those are holes through which screws are positioned and installed to hold the inner hinges in place. I suggest that those two screws be the first of the five. After those two hinge holders are in place, insert the top and bottom screws. The fifth screw is the middle screw. Once all five screws are in place, tighten them, but DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN. They are held in place by pre-molded plastic, and can be easily stripped. Test the installation by closing the washer door. Make sure the door closes and latches securely. Toss a couple of bath towels in the tub and add detergent, then start a cycle. If the door is properly installed, you will have no leaks. If the door is not properly installed and you have leakage, go back and look at the hinge placement. That's the only place in the installation you can make a fitting mistake.

Kenmore Elite front loader glass "bowl" shattered during a wash cycle. I'm a pretty handy DIY'er and after receiving the"replacement determined that I would utilize the glass from the non Sears door and replace my broken glass. Ten minute job. Extra parts (frame, etc) and old broken frame disposed of in trash. Back to a serviceable status. Washer tub and plastic blades in tub have scarring from large pieces of glass from initial damage. Vacuumed out shards, inspected seal. No issues. Pretty expensive solution for replacing the glass bowl.
