Safety guidelines to follow when using your Century welder

  • Read and follow all instructions and safety guidelines in the owner's manual for your welder.
  • Don't let bare skin or wet clothing come between the electrode and a work clamp, work piece or metal work table.
  • Wear dry, hole-free clothing, gloves and shoes to protect and insulate your body while welding. Wear proper protective equipment while welding.
  • Make sure to insulate yourself from ground contact by using dry insulation when welding in damp locations, on metal floors or when sitting down or lying down where large areas of your body could be in contact with possible grounds.
  • Maintain the electrode holder, work clamps, welding cable and welding machine in good, safe operating conditions at all times.

Proper personal protective equipment to wear when using your Century welder

  • Use a proper welder helmet with a filter and cover plate to protect your eyes and face from sparks and arc rays when welding.
  • Always wear safety goggles with side shields when in a welding area.
  • Wear oil-free protective garments, proper leather boots and welder gloves when welding.
  • Wear a proper safety harness when working above the floor to protect yourself from a fall.
