Reset the house circuit breaker for the garbage disposal outlet if the breaker tripped. If the house circuit breaker wasn't tripped, check the electrical outlet for power by plugging a night light or small appliance into the outlet. If the test item doesn't power up, then you'll likely need to have an electrician repair the electrical outlet. If the outlet works, unplug the garbage disposal and check the power cord for damage.
