Checking continuity through wiring in your Sci O Tech health & wellness equipment

  • Always unplug the power cord to completely disconnect electrical power from the equipment before testing wires for continuity in your health & wellness equipment.
  • To check continuity on a run of wiring, disconnect both ends of the wire.
  • Set your multimeter to check continuity with a tone.
  • Put one meter lead on one end of the wire and the other meter lead on the opposite end of the wire.
  • The meter signals a tone and shows near 0 ohms of resistance if the wire has continuity.

Electrical safety guidelines for Sci O Tech health & wellness products

  • Always unplug electrical equipment before cleaning, maintaining, repairing or replacing internal components.
  • Follow all electrical safety precautions described in the owner's manual.
  • If a fuse blows in the product, examine all electrical components and wiring carefully to find the short circuit that caused the equipment to draw too much current and blow the fuse. Replace the fuse after finding and repairing the cause of the short circuit.
  • Plug the equipment into a GCFI outlet when using an electrical product near a source of water such as a sink or shower.
