Precautions for using your Roadmaster weight system

  • Make sure that all users of the weight system are completely familiar with safe operating procedures and precautions.
  • All users should consult with their physician before commencing a workout program on the weight system. Physician screening is especially important for users over age 35 or persons with pre-existing health issues.
  • The weight system isn't intended for use by persons lacking experience or knowledge of proper fitness routines.
  • Place the weight system on a level surface with enough clearance around the system to mount, dismount and use the weight system.
  • Keep children under age 13 and pets away from the weight system at all times.

Maintenance tips for your Roadmaster weight system

Inspect all moving parts each time you use your weight system. Replace any worn cables or pulleys immediately. Tighten any loose bolts, nuts or other fasteners.

Cables can stretch when you use the weight system the first time. Cables also stretch over time. Carefully check cable tension before each use. Tighten any cable that has any slack during inspection. Don't overtighten any cables. The top weight in a stack will be lifted up off the stack if a cable is overtightened.

If a cable slips off the pulleys often, the cable may be twisted. Remove the cable and re-install it.

All cables should be replaced every 2 years.
