Removal required a 3/8' socket to free the cable from the upper handle, a small screwdriver to release the plastic spring clip from the lower handle and a slight tap with a nut driver from the underside of the main body shell to free the last retainer. Installing the replacement was a simple reverse process. I had also ordered the auger drive cable for future replacement when it becomes necessary. Replacing the cable revealed a failing auger drive belt, so I subsequently ordered that. I recommend checking all belts and cables when an initial failure of any one of them occurs.

Snowblower Drive cable
Not bad to install except for getting that plastic piece out just under the metal shell where it connects. I broke the housing that holds it in place which is part of the gear housing. I just added a washer (metal) and a rubber hose washer then used a cable clamp on top so when engaging the clutch it will work. Works like a champ, will look at in spring and see if a better fix can be done when its warmer.
