Took off old broken knob with needle nose pliers and pressed in new knob. Took about 30 seconds

Works great but plastic
It works great. Bought this part for my trash compactor in 2013, 2016, and now in 2020. It is made of plastic unfortunately for the purchaser.

Switch Knob
The switch knob works fine but I will need a new one in a couple of years. The plastic shaft will sheer off again.

knob would not stay tight and broke again
Knob would not really work and it would not stay tight and then broke again. Since compactor was 10 years old and this was second part that had broken in two weeks, we gave up after spending almost $100 on parts and bought a new one - a kitchenaide this time.
