This filter (part number 17816) is for shop vacuums.
Filter 17816 traps the dust and debris from the exhaust air. The filter fits threaded filter cage studs, and non-threaded filter cage studs when using the included cage nut. The filter now includes an integrated filter plate, so the original plate is no longer needed.
This filter fits most Craftsman 5-gallon and larger shop vacuums made after 1988 with models prefixed by 113 or 125 and whose original filter had a red stripe. Also fits some Cleva shop vacuum models starting with VBVA, VJC, VJF, VJH and VQ8.
Follow the instructions on the box when installing this part.

The right parts in stock...

Wrong part sent
Working with the agent on the phone, they struggled to find the part I was asking for. After the long time spent searching, the agent claimed he found the two parts. I received the part and they did not fit. I called back into the parts department, explained my experience of receiving the wrong part. The second agent said " we do not stock that part ". Nice job by the first agent and guessing what would work and I have this experience with Sears. Great employee integrity.

Shop vacuum filter.
The filter was not an exact replacement for the old one. I had to do a slight modification on the assembly to get it to fit. Also, I paid more for the filter than I did for the vacuum.

One Piece Filter
We had lost the cap for the filter after we washed the filter. Found this replacement that has a built in cap. Smart move!

Ordered shop vaccum filter
Ordered shop vacuum filter ( Supposed to come with the filter retainer ) And foam filter. So far I have received two filters and zero retainers.Why can't the company just simply send me the retainer?
