Lawn & Garden Equipment Engine Carburetor Rebuild Kit (replaces 698787, 790032, BS-699521, BS-796184) 796184

It was the right kit for the carburetor in need. It was relatively easy to install but I do have previous experience with small engine repair. I did appreciate and use the enclosed suggestion/link to an online small engine repair site and found good supplemental information and tips for avoiding future problems.

Kit purchased as backup after striping down the carb after gas leak problem but having to reuse original parts. Original parts still in good shape after cleaning.

The repair was somewhat easy youndo not use all the parts

The somewhat generic written instructions on the Craftsman parts website were helpful, but incomplete. Help in the form of 3rd party YouTube videos and general rebuilding Q&A websites were essential in my successful completion of this project. I have previously rebuilt car carburetors and am a pretty good amateur mechanic. This rebuild took me about two hours. I was not 100% confident the carb would work after the rebuild, but my tractor fired right up and worked perfectly!

The parts all fit exactly. They came in a sealed package that kept them in good condition.

Had what I think was a float valve issue. The rebuild kit took care of the problem. Took a lot of pictures before disassembly and also notes as I was going along otherwise reassembly could be a nightmare. First carb fix- happy! :)

Instructions on rebuilding would have been nice and too many parts in kit. Some parts were not anywhere on my carb so where they went I have no idea. This is where instructions would have helped, did I miss something? I hate paying for a universal kit with parts I don't need.
