My dryer would not heat up, so I called Sears and discussed the issue. The rep found the part that he said I needed and assured me that it would be the only part that I would need to get the dryer working. Replacing the part requires that the front and sides of the dryer, as well as the drum, be removed. The job takes about an hour. After I installed the new thermostat, the dryer still failed to heat up. I noticed there was a second sensor, which I now know cycles the heat on and off. It also needs to be replaced, but because Sears doesn't have it, the rep never mentioned it. You can google it and find it easily. It would have been nice to replace them both at the same time, rather than wait a week for one, make the repair, take the dryer apart again, wait for the second part, and then finish the job.
