For my craftsman 917377660. From the bottom, remove the blade, remove the blade mount, remove the plastic cover. unhook belt from crankshaft, hook new, feed thru hole in base and reassemble bottom. From top, remove plastic cover, remove two screws for tensioner mount. unhook old belt and feed thru new. Re-assemble.

Not difficult to install.

Remove the plastic cover over the pulleys, remove the blade, install from underneath. If changing for the first time, it wouldn't hurt to snap a picture of the pulleys and belt to recall how to feed the belt.
