Easy to install.
A perfect replacement for the old steering assembly. It is much easier to install if the deck is removed. I also ran the self tapping bolts in before I started the install. Much easier to bolt assembly down if the holes are already threaded.

Perfect Part Replacement!!
Like every other part I have ordered from SPD for my lawn tractor--and there have been a few at this point--the part fit perfectly and got me back to mowing! My only challenge was in realizing I did not need to pre-tap the 4 mounting holes (there were no instructions in the container), so I (correctly) assumed I just needed to "force" the bolts to cut the threads. Other than that...no issues and all was back together. I did remove the fuel tank, mower deck, deck-control axle (from left side of console) and left-side of console to allow for more room to work, which seemed to help (installation time indicated includes this "extra").

A piece of cake.
Check bolt holes you may have to drill them out bigger , I had to so once in my 25+year old mower steered like a million bucks. The part it self is has a cheesy plastics part on it so I guess it did ok after 25+years.

easy to install, brought life back to my old mower
took about 30 minutes to swap out with my old steering column that the gears had worn down on. this is very straight forward and can be done with simple hand tools. so nice to be able to operate my mower with solid responsive steering again.

installing steering sector
you have to lower the mower to install, and there is no threads in the new mount. It fits into the tractor rather easily.
