Wrong part for my appliance

I had someone who replaces refrigerator gaskets all the time in his job come to install mine. He began to remove mine and when he encountered difficulty looked closely at the replacements and said 'they are clearly not the same'. The parts were ordered using the model number from the plaque on the interior of the fridge, but they were not the same as the originals. This tradesman said the originals are very complicated installation and if we took them off we'd never get them back on. Hoping i can return the gaskets easily.
