Work area safety guidelines to follow when using your Steele drill press

• Work in a well-lit area so you can clearly see the work piece and the location of the drill bit.
• Make sure that your work area is well-ventilated. Don't operate your drill press in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust.
• Keep children and bystanders away from the work area when operating the drill press. Distractions can cause you to lose control of the drill press.
• Wear work gloves to protect your hands and eye protection when using the drill press.

Locking the chuck at the desired depth on your Steele drill press

• Unplug the drill press to disconnect electrical power.
• Turn the feed handles until the drill press chuck is at the desired depth.
• Hold the feed handles at the desired position.
• Turn the stop nut located under the depth stop counterclockwise until it rests against the depth stop.
• The chuck will now be help at this position when you release the feed handles.
