Maintenance tips for your Empire wall heater
- Replace the air filter monthly when the wall heater is in use. Failure to replace the air filter regularly restricts air flow through the heater.
- Clean the heater monthly. To clean the heater, shut off the house circuit breaker for the heater or unplug the heater power cord to disconnect electrical power. Make sure the heating element is cool before cleaning the heater. Brush dust and lint off the grille using a soft-bristle brush then wipe the grille clean using a damp cloth. Allow the grille to dry completely then restore electrical power.
- Vacuum dust and lint out of the heater cabinet yearly. Disconnect electrical power and remove the front grille panel. Use a nozzle vacuum hose attachment to clean all interior areas of the heater. Reassemble the heater and restore electrical power.
Replacing the fan blade in a Empire wall heater
- Unplug the wall heater to disconnect electrical power. Wear work gloves to protect your hands during the repair.
- Remove the fan cover mounting screws and pull the fan cover off.
- Disconnect the fan motor wiring harness.
- Remove the fan mounting screws and pull the fan out.
- Loose the fan blade set screw. Remove the fan blade from the motor shaft.
- Install the new fan blade on the fan motor shaft and tighten the fan blade set screw.
- Mount the fan in the fan housing. Connect the fan wire harness to the fan motor.
- Reinstall the fan cover and plug the fan power cord back into the electrical outlet to restore power to the fan.
