All you have to do is remove the cover (a few screws), pop the old limit switch out, replace the wires, and pop the new one in. Almost anyone can do it. Total time was around 30 min.

If you get the limit switch Assembly, get the drive gear also. If you don't, you risk it continuing to skip. Only trick is to get the drive gear off.

When this Limit Switch was delivered, it only took about 20 minutes to install and test it. My car had been sitting outside, collecting ugly yellow pollen for 2 weeks! I was never so happy to hose a car off and drive it into the garage! Thank You!

Very easy to install.

Very easy to install and shouldn't take more than 5 to 10 minutes. No tools required other than a socket driver to remove the garage door cover. Disconnect power. There are three tabs holding it in place. Squeeze to release and pull down and out. Make note of wire connector locations before disconnecting wires. Install in reverse order, aligning gears into place as you do so. Troubleshooting that this is the culprit might take a little longer. My problem was that after 17 years of usage, the plastic gear had worn just enough to cause it to start slipping, causing it to go out of adjustment.
