Good OEM (Husq) part - must have patience though
The wheel itself looks great and is probably very close to what the old wheels looked like when they were new. The price is high, though, and it would be nice if the parts that wear out (gear teeth and tire tread) were more replaceable so I didn't have to buy the whole wheel. That is more than I can say for SearsPartsDirect, though. I ordered these wheels knowing they were on back order in August 2021 and received them in February 2022. I wouldn't need them over the winter, so it wasn't a big deal to wait. I figured the mower parts factory probably gets backed up in late summer on purpose so they can work slow and steady through winter and plan to catch up by the spring/summer rush. SPD did fulfill the order, but didn't seem to be able to tell me when they would ship. They just (presumably) guessed another week or two out. If they could have said in the beginning "hey it's gonna be Jan or Feb 2022 by the time we complete this order" it would at least have allowed me to set a proper expectation. Yes there was a "global supply chain" issue at this time and that makes sense for parts made overseas, but these were made in the USA (two thumbs up for still making these domestically!). Maybe they were made from foreign-sourced materials? Was there a shortage of truckers to deliver the wheels? Were the truckers waiting on wheels themselves???
