Lg Refrigerator Door Flap Spring
I ordered 2 identical door flap springs for an LG refrigerator. One was spiraled in the correct direction while the other, same part number on its packet, was NOT and thus useless!

Don't bother
I verified the model number numerous times and this part does not fit my fridge it's too big. It's pretty sad that in this day and age Sears can't even get their drawings and part numbers correct. Sad.

Not the same spring as original
This was not the same spring as the original, much larger and does not fit. Old spring measured 9mm in diameter, this spring is 12mm and does not fit. Overall I've had no issues ordering parts from Sears Direct and would order again but they need to fix this issue.

Right number - wrong part
Ordered part and does not fit - spring is too big. Manufacturer is aware of it but has not fixed it and Sears said they would contact me - I'm still waiting. My refrigerator door has to be manipulated manually to shut. I really want the part. My money was refunded and the agent was extremely nice and she said the manufacturer has to correct the book and the part.

Glad it's over
We have a Model #LFX28978ST/02 Lg bottom-mount refrigerator. The spring that keeps the flapper taut broke so we ordered a spring to replace it based on the LG schematics. The original part we ordered proved incorrect. We called Sears and learned the correct part # after viewing the Youtube the Sears customer service rep sent us. Sears refunded the original cost and sent us the correct part; thank you, Sears. The installation of the second spring went well thanks to my wife's assistance. The spring is located at the lowest hinge in the flapper. The door closes as it should; however, I broke two tabs off the cap covering the middle hinge and Sears does not have replacement in inventory. I now search any and all resources for a replacement cap. My ratings below are based on replacing the correct spring.

Right part number, but part "not right"
This spring will not fit a Kenmore Elite bottom freezer refrigerator, even though it is the part shown on the parts sheet and the part number suggested by the company. The spring we received was coiled backwards from the illustration and the old spring, and thus, will not fit in the refrigerator. And, if I had taken the time to carefully read other reviews of this part, I would have know this is a common problem with this particular part. Apparently, they are coiled backwards very often, and the distributor for some reason won't destroy the "bad" springs or replace them with new, properly coiled springs. And. although the technician did refund the funds for the 2 springs I ordered, there was no refund of the $10 shipping charges ~ so I am out $10 for 2 springs that absolutely did not and will never work to repair my refrigerator. Technician suggested I contact a local repair person, to see if they could get the proper spring in . . .hope so. Very, very disappointed in this transaction.

Order MHY62044106 instead!!
I was looking for part 267A as listed in the manual, but was redirected to part MHY62044103. This spring looks right in the picture on the website, but when it arrives, it is wound in the wrong direction, so it doesn't fit. I have ordered the part ending in 106 which looks like it will fit. The Sears people need to fix the website to reflect the actual part.
