In spite of the fact that this was supposed to be a compatible part, it didn't fit. Took 1/2 hr with a Dremel tool to make it work. Not happy.

Wrong part

I received the wrong part, despite having put in the model number of my Kenmore gas grill. And, I didn't know it was wrong until I started the installation and disassembled the ignition module housing on my grill. The part I received only had connection posts for two wires. Once I was able to remove the metal housing around the worn out ignition module, I saw there were 3 pairs of wires coming out of it. Once I saw it I understood why it needed three. My grill has a side burner outside the main cooking chamber and a rear heating element as well as the four burners. Undeterred, I grabbed some masking tape in order to label the wires as I disconnected them from the old module, figuring I would order a new part and proceed with the repair. But then one of the lead wires came loose from wherever it was connected to its igniter. I could not see where it connected since all the wires from the module ran into the machine through a cover plate behind the from cover plate through which the burner knobs protrude. In order to complete the repair, it appeared I would need to remove the front cover plate, then the below cover plate in hopes of finding the connecting place and being able to reconnect the loose wire without inadvertently disconnecting the rest. At that point I knew I should give up and replace the grill. The grill gave good service for many years (maybe 10). I would have been tempted to buy another Kenmore grill but I am leery of doing so unless and until Sears comes out of reorganization bankruptcy. I hope it does. I've always liked Sears.
