Be very careful when removing old pulley to release all tension in the take-up spring (by allowing pull cord to be completely taken up by removing it from handle), otherwise it will pop out and is very difficult to re-install). I learned this the hard way. If the tension is released then the installation is easy since the take -up spring should remain in position. The take-up spring is not the spring that forms part of the pulley assembly, but is the spring (kind of like a clock spring) that returns pulley to retracted position once it has been pulled.
