Next to impossible to install

The spring loaded clamp was about 4-5" smaller in diameter than the edging it was supposed to install into. After hours of trying to install as is, I had to carefully stretch the spring to get the clamp to a size where it was possible to fit it on - about 2" smaller than the place it was supposed to install into. I am concerned it's going to pop back off because of the combination of the replacement door boot being too thick to fit into the edging holder and the clamp being way to small/tight. Sprained my hand installing it.
