Oem part and easy to install. Saved my washer
My washer stopped working and the f28 error was showing up. It could either be this central module or the lock. I took the lower cover out, located the module and removed it. It was clear that the module was at fault because of the burnt smell and visually it looked like something shorted out. The only con was shipping as it is very expensive in my opinion

F11 Error Code
F11 error code was not caused by faulty Motor Control Unit nor Main Controller. A faulty electric door latch was causing the F11 error code to appear. You have to be an experienced technician to trouble shoot faults like this. Kenmore should add: Faulty Door Latch to their Error Code Definitions for F11. I returned the purchased MCU to Sears Parts Direct for a refund, less return shipping.
