Kept my 18 year old Mower going!
This unit was a life saver. With Supply Chain issues hampering the new mower market, I had to keep my old mower alive for at least one more season. This repair will not be for one more year of service, because I now have a virtually brand new, 2003 LT1000! The deck swap was easy. I took the time to install new spindles and pulleys while I was at it, and the end result was a fully functioning, better-than-new mowing experience. I think this patch will keep my old Craftsman alive for another 5 years, or at least until the engine finally dies! My best guess is that I currently have around 500 hours on the engine, and it still runs great. So I know I'm on borrowed time, but its been a great workhorse for me. One time readjusting the valves, and the original carb had to be replaced due to unleaded fuel eating up the o-ring and clogging the jets so badly I couldn't save it. Great machine, and a great fix to keep her running.

Requires Holes to be Tapped
The deck is the proper dimensions and is rust-proof coated. However, the holes that required tapping are not tapped. Other than that, the product is fine.

Mower & bagger parts
The service was horrible. Several times the told me what part I needed then THREE times they sent the WRONG parts! I am still waiting for a return label to send these back. They requested my address MANY times and still got it WRONG!! I out of about $500.00 waiting. They sent me TWO EMAILS asking for the CORRECT address AGAIN only they sent the email on a NO REPLY accounts TWICE. I need this corrected. I am disabled on Social Security. This money equals half of my.monthly pay! PLEASE fix this HORRIBLE MESS!!! MARY WILLIAMS

Improper / missing pre-drilled holes
Deck housing was fine with one exception, the mounting of scalp wheels. The rear brackets were not aligned properly, so I had to modify the mounts to install them. Also, there were no pre-drilled holes to mount the front wheels so I had to drill them myself. Other that that, everything else was fine.

Wish Sears still had lawn tractor service!!
Would not recommend installing yourself. The deck comes stripped and requires the transfer of pulleys, l parts, springs, etc. Also, all the old bolts were rusted into the holes and broke off. I tried, then took it to a lawnmower shop. The detailed parts lists and diagrams that Sears maintains are exceptional. Most products don't come with them.
