correct part
Old mulching door was in bad shape, ordered a new mulching door from sears parts direct, the spring that holds the door shut was the biggest challenge, It fit properly, very happy, would recommend to a friend.

Wrong Part for the 2nd time
They sent the incorrect part again. I give up. I ordered for the 2nd time a Side Discharge Chute - evidently they are not made for my Craftsman any more. John

No Instructions to Install Mulch Door
It took over 3 weeks to deliver the required part that was in stock!!!! Why??? No instructions were included to install the mulching door. Very disappointed!!! I am sure that if instructions were included, I could complete the task, but I had to bring the mower to a service center to install the door. Not cheap!

Wasn't an exact replacement
This took about 30 min to install, but that's because I had to modify it a little. For this particular lawn mower 917.370413, where the hinge bracket assembly meets the mulcher door, the front contact point on the mulcher door was too high. This didn't allow me to push the hinge rod through. Not sure if it was a plastic mold problem, or it was designed for another mower. I got a small wire brush wheel and used my dremel to cut the contact point down so I could make the front end of the hinge bracket assembly line up with the hole on the mulcher door to slide the hinge rod through. The wire brush wheel works great as it slightly melts the plastic down and makes for an easy modification.

Came without the lock piece.
When I installed the mulch door it wouldn't stay on because the the lock piece was not on the door.
