Garage Door Opener Outside Release 53702

The Craftsman garage door opener outside release (part number 53702) lets you manually open your garage door from the outside in case of a power failure. It's for vault-type garages without an access door. It can be used with all Craftsman and most other garage door openers.

The release tumbler with key is installed through holes drilled near the top of the garage door. The tumbler connects to a cable that attaches to the release mechanism on the garage door opener. To operate the release, use the key to unlock the release, pull the lock and tumbler through the door, and pull the cable that's attached to the pull rope.
