NOT a proper substitute as stated
Was supposed to replace a control with straight levers on a straight handlebar but the levers were curved down like a frown so they didn't align with the straight handlebar making them very difficult and painful to use, think carpal tunnel, not to mention the weird angle of pull would make them break off again in no time I am sure. There was no mention of replacing the handlebar for a compatible curved unit but that is what I did. I went to a local scrap yard and obtained a proper fitting but rusty handlebar from a scrap mower for another fee that was 2/3 the original part price not to mention driving around to obtain it. I guess it did officially "work" but I can put a tractor tire on my car and it will roll but that doesn't make it a compatible substitute!
