Works nicely to heat up the water
The Sears video was extremely instructive. We watched that several times. We drained the tank which required us to connect 2 hoses not just one, but it worked. The old heating element came out easily with the required tool. Then we vacuumed out the old lime scale and sludge with a shop vac and a piece of tubing taped on. That worked! Then we put the new element in. It required a bit of work to get it screwed in since it's bottom heavy. But with a second person helping, we screwed in the new element. Then filled the tank, turned it on, and got hot water quickly. We were amazed we actually fixed something! Thanks for the instructions. Total time with draining, vacuuming the inside and putting in the new part took under 2 hours. We are novices.

Easy to install
Just make sure you have a 1 1/2 socket. The element comes with a gasket so don't make the mistake I did and bought the gasket kit.
