delivery delay
The part is fine. The fact that I had to wait 2 months to receive it, after I was told it was in stock, Is very troubling. Also, I was not given a phone number or a web page where I could cancel the order, so I had to wait. I will certainly hesitate before ordering from Sears again. Very disappointed in your service.

Fitting is simple, but lifting the disposal isn't.
It helps a lot to have a tall stack of wooden blocks to put on the cabinet floor, a thin wooden block to protect the lower end of the disposal, a narrow stick of wood to use as a pivot, and a flat board or pry-bar with which to lever the splash guard (and the heavy disposal) up into its socket and hold it there while you tighten the locking ring. Lubing the new part with a few drops of detergent helps, too.

Garbage Disposal Splash Guard
Unhooked disposal outlet to sewar, unplugged disposal, released locknut holding disposal to mount, removed old splash guard, installed replacement splash guard, repositioned disposal to mount, secured mount locknut, re-installed J-trap between disposal outlet and sewar, plugged unit back in, ran water and tested unit for appropriate operation

WRONG Part
I gave the model number of the Kenmore disposal as I knew the gasket is specific to this model and now I have a gasket which I can not use and I am not sure how to return it or just what to do to get the right part. If Sears can't provide the right part I guess I will have to purchase a new disposal just to replace the splash guard?
