How to load a trash compactor

Throwing trash away seems like the simplest thing in the world to do, but if you have a trash compactor you could be loading it completely wrong. To prevent problems like jamming or horrible odors from the compactor follow these simple tips.

• Only use bags designed for trash compactors.

• Load large, bulky items in the center of the container.

• Place cans and bottles on their sides in the center of the container.

• Wrap wet or messy trash before placing it into the compactor.

• Do not place items such as raw meat, fish, diapers or personal hygiene products in the compactor.

• When loading trash, don't pack down with your hands or feet.
