Maintenance tips for your Char-Broil outdoor smoker

  • Scrape and brush debris off the cooking grates after you've finished smoking but while the grates are still hot.
  • After the smoker cools completely, lightly coat the grates with cooking oil so food won't stick to the grates the next time you use the smoker.
  • Empty the fire box and ash catcher of all charcoal and ash.
  • Wipe down the outside of the smoker with a damp cloth.

General safety guidelines to follow when using your Char-Broil outdoor smoker

  • Read and follow all safety and operational guidelines in the owner's manual for your outdoor smoker.
  • Don't use the smoker inside the garage or inside any indoor space.
  • Position the smoker at least 10-feet away from your house, fences and hanging branches.
  • Make sure that your smoker is positioned on flat ground with a stable base.
  • Don't use any starter fluid other than charcoal lighter to start the smoker fire.
  • Keep children away from the smoker while cooking.
