Good order handling, bad design!
Everybody knows that chrome plating on mild steel peels. They expand and contract at different rates. Heat encourages oxidation to help it peel: not smart for food contact. Using mild steel in any application on a "stainless steel" grill is silly. A stainless grate was expected originally and should have been corrected for the replacement part. Price was very high.
