Plastic
The reason the handle needed to be replaced is because the original handle was plastic covered with a silver film, which came off over time. The handle I ordered was described as stainless steel, but it is also cheap plastic covered with a silver film. My microwave was very expensive. I would expect the handle to be a better product. Also, the part cost more $120. Way too much for a plastic handle.
