Even though the part was back ordered it was still pretty quick. The fact that we received notice of the back order was very helpful. I appreciated the communication. All was good! During this time my husband was able to get the water heater working, so we have yet to install the part. But, we will keep it just in case as we have had this issue before.

Slightly off, but works ok

This is the second one of these I had to get. This one works well, but here is the problem with the both of them. As a replacement part, the thermocouple well on these is about 1/4" too deep for older versions of the thermocouple plug and nut. The nut cannot be screwed in all the way (the nut part goes up into the well) so the coil to magnet gap is not quite right. On the first part I bought, nothing would allow the pilot to stay lit even though the TC voltage was fine. I added some shims around the TC wire and it worked for a while, but eventually the pilot light became unreliable again. The second one is working without shim, but I don't know if it will continue long term.
