No install instructions
March 25, 2019

I was given a few websites to find install instructions or a schematic. No luck and also a phone number to a local Sears outlet which is no longer in service. I guess it will be trial and error. Hopefully I don't smoke the router. No instructions came with the part and the connections are different. Bad experience.

Easy to install after viewing switch changing video. Suggest using a small awl instead of a nail or pin.

As far as how the switch fit, it was fine. Unfortunately the wiring connections were in different locations making a simple change over of wires more difficult. I'm still experimenting with mine to get it right, so far no luck.

Failed installation. Ohmmeter check showed functional before wiring attempt. Had to tin stranded wires with solder. Uncertain of proper depth to install wires. Unable to remove wires from spring clips after wire install attempt. Contacts shorted after install attempt. Never turns off, runs at a single speed. Recommend installing 4 pieces of solid wire to contacts, confirm 2 pair of open to low resistance paths, then solder splice and insulate with hot shrink tubing.

The switch on my 20-year-old belt sander went bad. I found the old box with the model number, looked the part up on Sears Parts Direct, ordered it, installed it, and the sander is working again.

Belt sander switch
July 26, 2018

Put the new switch in, plugged in the sander and it started running. The new switch did not work, could not get it to quit running, had to unplug to get it to stop. Used an ohm meter to check the switch and the switch is bad right out of the package. Did I mention the switch was bad from the start.
