This manufacturer-approved black glass main top (part number W10140993) for Whirlpool electric cooktop model GJC3055RB04 provides a smooth cooking surface, and the radiant elements attach under the top.

Unplug the cooktop or shut off the circuit breaker to completely disconnect electricity for the unit before beginning the repair. Completing the work requires pulling the cooktop out from the counter. Use the installation manual as a guide for doing that.

Transfer all of the components from the bottom of the existing main top to the new one.
