This manufacturer-approved black glass main top (part number 316421244) for Kenmore electric range model 79096319400 a smooth cooking surface, and the radiant elements attach under the top.
Unplug the range before beginning the repair.
To release the existing main top, open the oven door and remove the screws from under the front lip that secure it to the frame. Lift the top, prop it up securely, take off the radiant elements and transfer them to the new top.
