It was easy to install it took me a couple sec the part i replace was the sting part it snap sting was not feefing in right and it broke.

I needed a head after running over mine. Looked in stores and couldn't find. I had to buy the whole thing. This saved me money and prevented me from having to buy something I really didn't need.

This trimmer assembly with the spool head Part # 753-08156 (not sold with the shaft) is a much superior trimmer than the one that came with my Troy Bilt motor. However, the drive shaft connection is a spline type and is not compatible with the square end drive of the Troy Bilt unit.

3rd time I had to buy a replacement

Sears refused to honor the Lifetime Warranty on this 3-in-1 trimmer'which is why I bought their product in the first place'so I've now had to buy replacement trimmer heads three times, because of the same faulty bolt. This time the part was back-ordered for 2 months. So I bought a new trimmer, not craftsman. And now I have two'-the new one I trust, and the craftsman I cuss about.

Trying to determine the proper lower shaft and trimmer heads is very difficult. First I ordered the wrong part, then with chat help I ordered the lower shaft and what I though was the complete trimmer head. Waht I got was the steel housing only. Anyway I returned the parts again. With the cost of the parts and all the shipping this line trimmer is too expensive to repair! It would have much easier to go to the local parts and repair center in Pineville NC, however it has been closed.
