Part Information
This mulch kit (part number 33742) is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) part that fits Craftsman 42-inch lawn tractors made prior to 2009 and all Craftsman 42-in yard tractors.
Mulch kit 33742 includes the deck mulch cover and 2 mulching blades.
The mulch kit changes the tractor from bagging mode to mulching mode, to finely shred the grass clippings and drop them to the ground.
This mulch kit replaces part number 24242.
Wear work gloves to protect your hands when installing this part.

Cheap generic
For the cost of it, it is just a cheap piece of soft plastic. The straps have to be relocated to fit. Not worth the money!

Does not fit my 42" lawn tractor
Purchased item 33742 for lawn tractor model number 247.288820. The shroud does not fit over the grass chute hole in the deck. Even paid for shipping ($12.99!); now I need to return it and find the correct part.
