Replacing upper dishrack plastic height adjuster rollers on Kenmore 665-series and Whirlpool dishwashers video

less than a minute readMar 09Lyle Weischwill

If a broken roller on your upper dishwasher rack makes it hard to load dirty dishes, order a new wheel and follow these easy replacement steps. This video is for Kenmore 665-series and Whirlpool dishwashers with a plastic height adjuster on the upper dishrack.

For more dishwasher troubleshooting advice, step-by-step repair guides and error code charts, check out our DIY repair page.

Remove the upper dishrack

  1. Press the release tab and pull the rack stop off the inside track of the rail. If your dishwasher has different rack stops, follow the instructions in your owner’s manual.

  2. Pull the dishrack out and set it upside down.

Replace the broken roller

  1. Squeeze the axle locking tabs in and pull off the broken wheel.

  2. Push the new wheel onto the axle and engage the axle locking tabs.

Reinstall the upper dishrack

Once the new roller is on, slide the wheels into the track rails and push the upper dishrack into the dishwasher. Reinstall the rack stops.
