Check out more dishwasher repair help, including troubleshooting advice, step-by-step repair guides and error code charts, on our DIY repair help page.

How to replace the upper dishrack roller

  1. Pull the upper dishrack out of the dishwasher a few inches. Remove each rack stop by pulling down on the bottom tab then pulling the front of the stop outward and sliding the stop up and off the rail.

  2. Pull the dishrack out of the dishwasher and turn it upside down.

  3. Pull off the broken roller.

  4. Snap the new roller on the dishrack.

  5. Slide the upper dishrack back into tracks and reinstall the track stops.

How to replace the lower dishrack roller

  1. Pull out the lower rack and remove the silverware basket.

  2. Turn the dishrack upside down and pull off the broken roller. Use pliers if needed.

  3. Snap the new roller on the rack.

  4. Put the silverware basket back in the dishrack and slide the rack back into the tub.
