Fit/works as it should

The spindle this part was being attached to had somewhat corroded over the years. My solution was to wirebrush the spindle in order for the agitator to be slid into place without too much resistance. Also be sure to keep the pieces from the old agitator that hold the fabric softener, unless ordering those parts as well. The toughest task was cleaning the tub area after removing the old agitator, a wet/dry vac (use crevice tool) and an old toothbrush helps. Be careful cleaning this section, as there are screens that filter the water as it drains...i found four pennies buried in the gunk in mine. See pic for tub area after gunk cleanup.

Pretty easy job!

Pop the fabric softener dispenser off the top (just pull up with hands)

Need pump pliers to pull the tab and a circular plastic cover with rubber o-ring with pop out (this will take some effort, depending on how old your machine is)

Probably going to need a 1/2 socket with at least 3" extension -- hold base of agitator to loosen.

Clean and lube the metal spline (a little soap will do the trick) to help slide the new agitator on.

Revere other steps.

product quality

original agitator around 12 years old. Seemed odd that 2 "wings" broke off the agitator. Loads were never heavy and were always done on light.

Got the replacement and was delver as promised. It do not last 3 loads [again all light loads]. 3 broke off on the same load.

It seems obvious to me that the phone agent is used to such issues and sent a replacement without delay. I half expected some trouble with the return but there was none.

It has worked well for a few weeks now.

Old to new agitator

After removing the old agitator found rust scale had built up on shaft. After removing with wire wheel, cleaned agitator installed.

Build quality?

Molded parts are all good, attached ring was not attached well, lots of excess material used, did not hold. Part works fine. Arrived quickly, no padding at all. Only place I found this part.

They dont make them like they used to.

I purchased a replacement because two of the flexible flaps on the end of the agitator arm came off on my ten year old unit. All of the flappers on the replacement unit broke off within 45 days. I ordered a second replacement, I'm hoping for a better outcome.
