Exceeded my expectations of ease

Shipped quickly, slid on effortlessly and has been working perfectly. Saved myself a service call and labor fees for something I was easily able to do myself… If you don’t think about having to move the washing machine itself.

Just the ticket, delivered on time/easy to install

The washing machine kept making terrible noises and would stop in the middle of a cycle for "unbalanced" loads. I thought the bearing had gone bad but once I identified the spline was completely wore out on the rotor assembly it was easy to determine what part was needed. It was great to receive the new rotor which fit perfectly and looked great. I would recommend this product to anyone looking to resolve any noise or balance issues. Remember to use a bit of loctite for the bolt assembly and give it time to set up before running.

LG Rotor replacement

Perfect replacement. Easy fix plus, got some chewy magnets off the old rotor.

Trivial To Install

My Kenmore 796.4027 washer made some nasty noises, then the drum would not turn during any cycle. I could move the drum freely by hand, but under machine power it would only move slightly – never go all the way around. These direct-drive washers have a magnetic rotor on the back that couples to the drum shaft with a nylon (some kind of hard plastic) spline. My guess is this nylon spline is actually designed to give way as a safety mechanism. Who knows why it’s plastic, but when I got mine off all the teeth were gone.

This part is trivial to change. The only difficult thing is moving a very heavy mashing machine. You need to have good access to the back of the washer. Remove 4 philips screws from the back access panel. Slide the panel up and out. The rotor is right there. The bolt holding the rotor in place requires a 17mm wrench. Slip that bolt off. Pull the old rotor off. INSPECT THE INNER MOTOR FOR DAMAGE – especially cut motor windings. Pop the new rotor on (this might be a little harder because the new rotor spline actually has teeth). Clean the bolt. I think you should add some Loctite to the bolt to ensure it doesn’t wiggle loose. Tighten it down. Put the back panel on. Done!!!

I think I spent more time cleaning years of mess from under the washer than fixing it. This part was really easy to change. I spent less than an hour on this repair. Again, the only harder part is moving the machine. I almost bought a new washer. Glad I did this repair instead.
