sears to the rescue --AGAIN
My sears side by side is 47 yrs old. Finally had something fail on it. OH NO!!! Thankfully their parts dept had my old thermostat in stock. Had been looking for it all over !!! Part delivered & installed & is working like a charm!!!... Sears products & parts dept a life saver. Also have a dryer that is same age & still going...

Easy as advertised.
Was rated as fifteen minute repair, my son installed in slightly less. Stringing through wall of freezer was most difficult. Saved me @ $300 in repair costs.

Didn't fit exactly right
It was easy to install, and seems to work fine. But the bracket is different than the original and it doesn't fit quite right. Now the temperature control knob won't go on all the way and wants to fall off.

Not really a direct physical replacement
Part was not a physical replacement. It required mounting 90 degrees opposite of the original. However, after some work it did mount with the knob not reflecting the true setting and did provide thermostatic control of the compressor running time. Temp varied about 4 degrees plus or minus.
